Based on Starwood belief of the importance of associates’ satisfaction and engagement to achieve the company goal of exceeding the expectations of customers, owners and shareholders, ultimate attention is given to seek employees’ opinion in the company leadership and management style. In order to better measure associate engagement — and act on it — Starwood introduced Star Voice, Best In Class Survey, a new associate survey that give each and every associate the opportunity to provide feedback in their local language to the management/leadership where they work as well as their opinion in their direct managers. The survey was carried in each and every property all over the world, in which 850 properties in more than 95 countries and 145,000 employees participated.
