Teaching Team Building to Kindergarten Kids

22nd March 2011 – Kids are the most vulnerable section of society and this is the reason why they must be taught to live in strong teams. Here comes the idea of Team Building and it is very important to teach its concept to children. The base of this idea starts setting in their minds since a very young age. From the time they join kindergarten, the concept of staying in a team with other members is taught to them.

Simple, everyday instances that are taught in their school life bear the principles of building a strong team. When they are taken out for an outing, they are asked to hold each other’s hands so that they do not lose track or fall. This is a concern for each other that they hold each other’s hands.

At home, the young ones are taught to share their chocolates with their siblings or parents. From this, they learn to share and care for each other. This increases love and closeness with the family members which are regarded as a team in a broader way. This is just a very small instance of team building process that the child starts learning at a very young age.

Activities involving two people to work together are also a team building work as they both have to understand each other and then complete the task. It may be completing a quiz or even a puzzle that requires equal co- operation of both the team members.

Coming to a larger team, when the kids take part in extra- curricular activities, they are working in team. Sports event or even any drama or dance event is organized annually; team work comes in mind here. They have to co- operate with each other and understand each other to give a good performance. This is possible when the kids have good relation with each other.

Keeping in mind all the smallest and meanest action, the kids can be taught how to live together with others happily. Many children face problem while sharing their belongings with each other. They are in great need of some team building activity or tasks.

At such a young age the parents can make them understand the value of a good Team Building and how to make them stronger with their presence. It is the parents only who can teach the kids the true values of life and communicating with people.
