Despite deep dissatisfaction, most women ignorant of natural breast enlargement alternatives

A recent UCLA and Cal State-Los Angeles survey found that 70 percent of American women are unhappy with their bust sizes.

The survey measured the responses of thousands of women from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.

According to the researchers, “Younger and thinner women worried that their breasts were too small. Older and heavier women were concerned about droopiness.”

“To calm women’s fears, Journalist Michael Castleman noted that the cosmetic industry has an array of padded bras and fashions “that focus attention on or away from their breasts, depending on the occasion and how they feel about their chests.”

Women also turn to “alternative” products like Jennifer Presley’s all-natural breast enhancement creams.

Presley, the owner of the Web site BreastEnlargement.name, claims to have discovered the secret for natural breast enlargement.

Though the cosmetic industry offers temporary enhancements and Presley offers a natural breast enlargement  product,  according to the American Society of Plastic Surgery, some 300,000 women undergo breast enlargements annually.

Due to the nature of surgery, it is generally accepted that breast enlargements can leave scars.

“What most people don’t know,” said Presley “is that breast enlargement via cosmetic surgery can cause hematomas, infections, breast pain, changes in the way your breasts feel, asymmetry and countless other side effects.”

A recent study by the National Women’’s Health Resource Center supports Presley’s claims.

In a recent NWHRC study on women’s health, researchers found that that among women who underwent reconstruction, “Forty-six percent with implants underwent another operation within three years; 25 percent of silicone patients and eight percent of saline patients had their implants removed; and six percent of silicone patients and 16 percent of saline patients experienced breast pain.”

Studies suggest that, despite the risks, many women undergo augmentation because of the perceived benefits including a boost to self-esteem, attractiveness to the opposite sex and apparent affluence.

Though a breast enhancement procedure can symbolize material success and lead to a definite change in social status, it is not a realistic option for many women as it can be costly.

Typically, a breast augmentation procedure can cost $6,000 or more, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. “What a rip-off,” said Presley.

“Most women can’t afford that. I don’t know why so many women do it.”

“Ladies, if you’re unhappy with the size of your breasts, there’s no need to have surgery or spend a lot of money. Natural breast enlargement is the way to go.”
